Spotted on runway: kimono’s

The trends for this and coming season are almost always determined on the basis of the catwalk. On the runway I saw a lot of kimono’s. The traditional Japanese garment is one of the biggest trends this summer, largely magnified by festivals. The often thin, airy fabric is comfortable in warmer weather, easy to combine and is laid-back.

There is definitely a glamour to the kimono, a garment with a beautiful Japanese history. Bold, bright robes that looked like they would go just as perfectly over a swim suit as they would with high-waisted denim and a bodysuit. It is a style with volume, drama and sweeping lenghts.

In the summer time you can get your sweaters, jackets and coats redeem perfect for a kimono.   Chanel, Pucci and Prada have ensured that you wear the kimono outside the house because the typical Japanese fabric and prints were replaced with updated prints. In the street you see the kimono often printed with a classic pattern of floral motifs on silk.   Not everyone will find it easy to combine a kimono but actually it is an item where you can easily wear because you can combine it with every style.

Overhere I opted to combine the kimono of with a black cropped flared trousers and a laced bodysuit.
